Enter the Fashionistas' World!
Howdy!
I checked out Sis's workplace yesterday and had lunch with some of her colleagues. The one comment I have reserved for them is that they lead extremely extravagant lives. They splurged up to a few hundreds dollars on cosmetics and skincare products a month. And of course, Sis is one of those who perpetrates in the indulgence of such stuff. Anyway her colleagues and supervisors were entertaining and we bantered for some time before lunch.
If some of you here believe that with money comes great food, I'd say abandon that misconception of yours. We tried out some traditional Japanese gourmet foods. They were not to my tastebuds and the wasabi there is especially worlds apart from the normal wasabi you often encounter. The wasabi sensation lingers in your tongue even after 10 minutes! I swallowed down my meal, for the sake of being polite and also the need to accommodate the rest. There were nothing like sushis and all. I also learnt of many things from them. Here are some of the most important rules fashion consultants must abide by:
Rule #1 : Carry either a designer or branded bag. Sis says it ensures you hold your style out well. Most of them in this line gun for Louis Vuitton's carrier bags. I even saw one of Sis's colleagues carrying a large LV bag. Authentic, of course.
Rule #2: Be true to yourself. You must adopt styles of your own. Never develop a dressing style inspired by a friend or vice versa.
Rule #3: Look brilliant everyday.
Actually, I don't kind of understand why Sis go to the extra mile of spending lots of money to look fabulous in her line of work. I mean, yes, one must look great almost all the time but I'd consider it an addiction to invest most of your money into it. But I think she lives by the motto: Look good while you can and while you are young.
Sis and I then went to catch the show Bolt. Great but incredibly meaningless at the same time. It is one of those shows which you enter, laugh, watch and exit. Enough of all this, lets talk about my trip to Hong Kong. Although I have been there umpteen times, this time around, I did meaningful activities there. How about some voluntary work?
I will do this in a nutshell since I don't enjoy typing lengthy entries. I met numerous nice and friendly people there who gave me real good insights into life and the city of HK. Special thanks to the staff at DHC near Mongkok who is ever so pleasant to me, the HK TV crew who showed me the seriousness of their working attitudes(it's no wonder HK is renowned for their programmes!), a lady on the street who recommended mum to a herbal tea shop when she realised mum's having a bad cough, HK Disneyland, a kind lady who gave me an extra something on seeing I was a teenager(thanks!), and those who helped out "behind the scene".
Not forgetting the airlines crew. There's this Hippopotamus air steward, the bewitching cabin attendant whom I thought resembled the witch from 101 Dalmatians(don't worry, you are nice after all!) and the Japanese passenger beside me for his courtesy and all.
Byes.
