To kickstart the New Year, my brother, 2 cousins, aunt and I headed down to Escape Theme Park for the last celebratory day in 2006. Yesterday, my 2 cousins, who have never stepped foot into the themepark before, were full of vigor and kept pleading relentlessly to my brother to bring them there. So that is how they got their wishes fulfilled. Man, they were scared out of their wits!!! Great.. the 12-year-old cousin declared that he wasnt going to visit that place again.. aww, how sad. Though the youngest one was frightened, I could see he was game for another trip if another opportunity arises.

Then we went to VideoEzy at Heartland Mall to lease some video... Too Fast Too Furious:Toyko Drift (sis loves this show cuz the setting is in Toyko), Garfield 2 - my 11-year-old cousin wants it, and Legend of the Dragon (a lame film the 12 years old kiddo wants)...

2006 is an especially hard year. Which, is not too bad a thing.... in its way.

Happy New Year yall people out there.

Did You Blow Year 2006? Just Huff & Puff For 2007!

1 more day to New Year's Eve.

I guess it will be about time for us to pop the champagne and clearly ruminate through the past year events. And for those who think you have made a blunder in 2006, fret not, 2007 will be a much better year to start with. I dont really have loads to tell but isn't it the time for us to get ready a notepad and pen to list down our New Year resolutions? Although I don't yearn for anything... (how do you stick to resolutions when you needa track your schedule and busy all year round?) Anyway, I jot down resolutions for the 'thrill' and sake of making resolutions.

1. To wake up earlier on weekends yet hyper till 1am (around 5-6am)
2. Have my brain undergo a brainwash (It's debauch... haa )
3. To love *a.n.i.me. c.h.a.r.a.c.t.e.r.s.* more... though i won't be watching anime anymore.. ( i can envision!!!)
4. Study harder, needless to say... hopefully i can cope without my brother :>
5. Go on the Uniquely Singapore HOTAIR balloon! [ i promised my sis to take her on this 'air-trip' ]

Thats about all... just some stupid things that are easy to keep to except for no.4 & 5.... so since i've got some time to spare... i'll rank the resolutions in accordance to their accomplishment levels.... starting with the easiest.

the no.1 easiest resolution to keep to is... to love anime characters more. that, without a doubt, is easy peasy.

then for no.2........ i'll say getting out of bed earlier.

next is no.3...... it'll be the HOTAIR balloon trip

for no.4....... it will be to study harder

you should know the last by now... its difficult to get a brainwash when i dont even have the money. dont ask me to dunk my head into the bathtub or washing machine.... but i wont rule out bathtub. that way, i can go to melissa's house and lie inside the tub for 24 hours!!!

heeehee.

I think I'm becoming a Death note fanatic soon. I even bought the keychain with L's initial on the death note book last week. Hee hee.

Anyway, I went to Vivo City with Amelia, Cheryl and Melissa for Death note 2 sneak preview. Was really intriguing and the storyline was great. But I'd prefer the anime version... It's more detailed and elaborated. But the movie version is a good one too cuz there is L, whom I think has the looks and is damn Kawaii! Cheryl and Melissa share the same sentiments as me, except for Amelia, who goes for Yagami Light aka Kira.

The screening time was at 1035am. We came sort of late so the seats available was only from Row 3 to the front. The show lasted about 3 hours, which I think passed too fast, probably because of the many L scenes they show. Heehee. =) Still, L was dead in the end, and together with Light. What the hell, i seriously dont think L should have died... considering the fact that he was a top-notch detective and has solved many high-end cases that the Police have failed to do so... and that he is Cute! Light SHOULD NOT have been on this Earth! He sucks sucks sucks! If it isnt for him, I guess L wouldnt have to put his life on the line and rival against Kira. What a pity.... =(

And I love this line that L said : There are times when you need to make sacrifices

I love L!

And one question regarding the movie, or should I say two : How did L's name appear in the Death note? Was it Misa Amane who wrote on it after she got back the Death note or was it Light who did that?

okay, so lets get started over here.

today's rating : satisfactory

Hmm... so i headed over to VivoCity and Harbourfront Centre with mum and cousin today. Did some shopping research at Fox, Puma, Adidas and Marks & Spencer.... while at Fox, i selected a collar tee for my cousin and suggested getting him the tee as christmas gift. ushered him into the fitting him to try the shirt on... the ironic thing was, he came out of the room wearing the clothing from home! man, the one reason i requested for him to try out the shirty was to see if it suits him... when i asked him why he didnt do so, he merely brushed me off by saying he doesnt like the material... so after much negotiations regarding his 'self-centred' behaviour, i quietly stormed off...

up next was Adidas.... there my cousin set his sights on a black shirt that i had picked out for him. well, i dont think it is nice. i just thought my cousin simply loves plain designs that dont stand out from the crowd. well, he doesnt need to wear something is really outstanding or whatever, but at least get something with ..... style. but since he liked it, since gotta accede to his request. heehee, thing was, mum paid for it instead of me. phew, prevents me from going broke. so thanks mum!

After payment, we made our way to Puma. why cant we go into some stores like Pull and Bear?! frankly saying, i was sick of going into sports-street equipment wear shops. but i guess the purpose of us going into Puma was to pick out a neat yet stylish jacket for my brother. saw a pretty nice one that really looks good on him. mum wanted to get it for him but when i called him on his mobile, he declined the offer cuz he decided to come and take a look himself. oh well, so much for our efforts.

Marks and Spencer was nothing. It was just, hmmm, like Marks and Spencer, lar! By then, i
was getting real beat. Passed by Esprit, Mum wanted to go in, so do I, but i really am in no mood for shopping, so forget that.

and yea, before we went on our shopping spree, we lunch-ed at Harbourfront Hawker centre. Mum bought me a bowl of rice with whatever fish thing... it was bland, or rather i should say, tasteless! I was fine with the meal so never mind. hey, i'm not a fussy-eater! so bless my mum! but, you can still call me a picky FRUIT-EATER because........ i have only eaten Apples, oranges, and grapes in my 13+ years on earth! thats a record... oh yea, i have a bite, a really small bite, on dragon fruit when i was 9, and if i'm not wrong, a pear... other than that, i dont really fancy fruits.

So for Dinner today, as usual, i ate with my cousins' family at a Hawker... my aunt helped me place an order of the 'fishball beehoon'.. i thought it was 'beehoon' so never mind. but when the food was served, the 'beehoon' is none other than the laksa type... i love the laksa beehoon but still, the normal beehoon do just as well. while i was tucking in heartily into the meal, the piping hot soup in the bowl scalded my tongue in an attempt to finish the meal faster... now my tongue feels parched, though it's better now.

Lastly, i just wanna remind you guys that Christmas Eve is tomorrow, so be sure to prepare some gifts and splurge more money. dont worry if you havent yet gotten ready the presents yet because you will not be the only one doing the last minute tedious shopping tomorrow as i, too, havent decided on what to buy! so here's an advance christmas greetings to all my friends!

and one last lastly, this is to Santa Claus :
May the year ahead be smooth sailing and all my wishes be fulfilled in the upcoming year! Scan through the list, havent i been an obedient kiddo this year?

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Annihilate!

Bang.

Today was horrendous as well. I guess I'm taking comfort in the fact that I dont have to show up in school tomorrow or the day after.... I dread Thursday. oh heaven oh hell, please may there be a heavy shower and the sky suffused with blackened dark clouds that one couldnt even take the wheels on the roads on Thursday. see i dont care if the economy or any company's shares keep fluctuating for a day or two, just as long as something that sends the ground trembling and the dining tables vibrating( better if the jars on it hobble onto the edge of the table and shatter) with people quivering and taking shelters under the bed!

WHOA WHOA WHOA.

what the hell... one step into the school territory brings back unpleasant memories. so the longer i stay away from the compounds, the better my days will be. that way, i'll be able to enjoy adolescence in a more constructive manner and stay youthful! heehee. i have tasked out a mission for you guys out there... wahahahs. i'll treat you to haagen daz premium caramel ice cream (3 tubs) if you manage to accomplish this ''assignment''... first of all you gotta have something ( a weapon, magical spell, charm, etc)... with the help of the items on hand, try to cordon off the school grounds. place barricades, deploy security personnels, i dont care... as long as it prevents entry.

why the sudden repugnance against school... i dont know why...perhaps it has to do with something that happens today... ROFL. but i guess i just have to take it all in my stride and gladly weather through the bad times... oh well, just that today sucks. but i'm sure that when school resumes, everything will be working out all fine for me then... after this downfall, i have to re-galvanise myself again...

ahahs. so regarding the deal, is it on or off?

P.S : I happened to chance upon this interesting article in sgforum.

according to this lady on straits time forum

'Hua Yu cool'?

No, boorish Mandarin-speaking youths spoil the image I can attest that Mr Peter Donkin's observations of young Singaporeans are true. I have many negative opinions of young Singaporeans too, despite being a youth myself. My observations of inconsiderate behaviour among young Singaporeans almost always involve the Mandarin-speakers. While not implying that all Mandarin-speaking youths are rotten (nor are all English-speaking youth angels), an overwhelmingly large group of offenders are observed to be from this group. This seems to stem from the Chinese school of thought which advocates 'If I don't take, I lose out' and 'If others can do it, so can I, otherwise I lose out', among other factors. Before anyone takes offence at my discrimination, go on a MRT ride across the island first, and my theory will come to life.

On a train ride from Jurong East to City Hall last month, I saw three groups of Mandarin-speaking youths huddled with their handphones playing Chinese songs at full blast. The three groups were in the same cabin. It was terrible. One couple left the cabin for another because they couldn't take the racket. Many people glared at the youths. A girl from one of the groups declared in Mandarin and English 'Wa, wo men hen attract attention leh!', which translates to 'Wow, we are attracting a lot of attention!'.

Was she thinking that people saw her group as 'cool' just because her handphone played MP3 music and they were the latest Mandopop hits? I was outraged at the inconsiderate behavior. The Mandarin-speaking Singaporean youths also seem to ignore rules that make the world an orderly place. For example, they ignore repeated reminders to keep to the left on escalators. They also ignore the markings that serve to allow passengers on trains to alight first. A Malaysian classmate who recently visited Thailand spoke of how gracious the people there were, and their good etiquette on the train.

Step into a shop and you will notice that the Mandarin-speakers are rude to service staff and they never say 'please' or 'thank you'. Based on their interactions with my peers, they take offence easily, yet they have no qualms about being sarcastic and rude to foreign teachers. Many young litterbugs are also Mandarin-speaking youths. When I visited Melbourne some months back, I was greatly impressed at the clean streets. I saw everyone putting their litter into bins, and there were no cleaners around.

While many Mandarin-speaking youths are nice on a personal level, their mentality can manifest the antisocial behaviour that I have mentioned. My friends and I belong to the minority English-speaking group and we are ashamed to speak in Mandarin in public. No, we are not elites, just normal teenagers. Unless the association of bad behaviour with Mandarin-speaking youths can be negated, 'Hua Yu Cool' isn't going to work on us anytime soon.

Ang Lixing

-----------------------------------------

I think this letter is more like a spite. ROFL. =)

Speaking Mandarin is not to be associated be indelicate teenagers. Even Caucasian are frantically learning Chinese and some are ardent speakers of the language, with some trying to master the language to break into Chinese market.

But still, unless your store of English Vocabulary is omniscient, I feel there is no impudent need to deride others speaking another particular language. This ostentatious attitude towards something is too snobbish.

heehee, and to my friends, i think this letter that the complainant has written will deter you guys from blasting your music out loud at full volume..... though i suppose none of my friends does!

till here then.

Saturday, December 09, 2006

haha. i got bored thats why i'm here. =)

to begin with, i had a pretty 'normal' day.

currently thinking : hey, give me a better day!

ROFL. this is outrageously ridiculous and lame plus funny but..... do you want some chips? oh man, i dont even know what the hell i am doing over here, so cant blame me for typing stupid silly stuffs. just needa get my fingers working ya see.

with regards to yesterday's events, oh well, so i went for my medical check-up... doc says to arrange for another meeting next year just to say 'hello' to me on that visit.... see how i'm doing and all that kind of stuff you'd expect a doc to say. after which, i headed into a bookstore, i mean the bookstore was already inside the NUS hospital.... or maybe i should say stationery store.. and indeed they sell inspiration books to liven the patients' day at the hospital... am i wrong? the titles ranged from books that tip you on how to be happy everyday to how to be successful in your... blah blah blah.. the books were crap shit nuggets... published and written just to earn some money from people.... i mean i dont think the author gives out useful advices.. unless hes a real happy person who dont mulls over certain events in life ever before... and its not like i'd be successful after reading the whatever book on that.

if so why aint the writer himself successful? hes successful, but not that successful. i mean he can consider himself successful since he already had written a book. ok, but the book was thick enough to be published as a book.... i guess the tips he gave are all repetitions of this and that...

so you still want some chips????

lets get chilling.

Had a pretty hard time trying to locate the song 'All out of Love' by the Irish boyband Westlife. Initially i had intended to upload the song 'The Rose' in but then it somehow cant work so got no choice but to use this. Anyways, I pretty love this song... hmm, it was first sang decades decades back.... but you dont expect me to use this song that was sang by the first artistes right? after all, their voices sounded husky.... that kind of old man old lady sound. hahas. actually i think the actual version sang by aunty uncles are great lar but then having it as my blog theme would be kinda awkward... i guess i'll set it as my blog theme when i'm around age 25. heehee, that way, i can excuse myself by saying,''hmmm, i'm nearing the thirties, surely you dont expect me to tune in to those popping techno songs that send your butts flying off the bar seats and get your body dancing?" i think this song can be easily found in the Air Supply album lar. my brother borrowed it from his friend some months back and i think it was really really good. thumbs up! ^^

i'm having qualms about whether to buy the Westlife lastest album. on one side, something keeps telling me to get a copy of it... i love most of the songs, did my 'homework', looking through the previews through sites like Youtube and some other that names the title of the songs in their recent album. i was kinda inspiring by the songs. but i find them a bit too 'slow' so i'm afraid i'll grow tired of it some months later.

they have all-time hits like,"All or Nothing-sang by O-town many many years back(90s) and You light up my life"........... one thing i found out about this album is that almost 80-100% of the songs have already been recorded by various artistes. take the song 'all or nothing' for example, it was supposedly written for Westlife but later O-town sang the song before them so Westlife is now ''singing it back''... since Bryan left the boyband, it seems that they dont sing some new fresh hits that rock the billboard or whatever charts in radio stations. but never mind they surely did make some progress in the lastest release compared to the 2005 Face to Face album and 2004's Let Us be Frank. i didnt get those last time cuz the covers appeared too ''old-fashioned'' to me. ahahs. XD

so till here then.

Yahoo! Prefects course has finally ended after two strenuous days of lame games. Not all the games are lame though, i especially like the 'fishing net' activity where those pupils who are captured have to form a sort of 'human Net' and have the remaining ones joined the Net. something like the game 'Tag'. time duration stretches from 8am till 5pm which to me, is considered 'long' enough... worse thing was that my leg ached like hell the day before the camp-course cuz i had gone on a jog previously. so after lunch break at 1215 today, the time seemed to crawl at a rather slow pace... they crapped, joked and blahblah... silly stuffs.

so i returned home, rested for a short while and get all the stuffs out of my bag before going for a jog to alleviate stress and the mental pain. then had a cold shower, ate dinner and i'm here blogging. speaking of dinner, the past two days was torture cuz i had to make do with the cream bun and pandan cake they sell in school. no instant noodles to fill my stomach only porridge... the porridge they serve dont seem to meet the sufficient amount to satisfy my hunger so i dont mind bearing for some hours going on an empty stomach.

and yes, starting tomorrow i'll be taking proper meals!

lets run run run!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :>

ROFL =) hahahahahas. my teeth seemed to give off a real pungent smell this morning. like i down some chlorine-like liquid. actually i didnt brush and polish my teeth in the early morning (i turned in late) so i squeezed the toothpaste.... but somehow that goddamn toothpaste inside the tube wouldnt budge a bit. ok, at one time i nearly had it came up to the tip of the tube but then i happened to relax my grip on the tube and the whatever cream just kind of ''escalated'' downwards. so i turned in without polishing my teeth. YEAPS!

and today is the start of a new month! christmas eve is nearing, 23 days to be exact, and i cant wait! ahahahs. santa claus-es will be flooding the seas of shopping malls..... maybe i should strut towards the santa claus with my hands stretched out demanding an early present from him! it has been years since i personally had a present bestowed upon me by a santa claus! (HOW OLD AM I?) like in drama shows, i mean the ang-mo kinds featuring christmas, the santa claus even hands out presents to teens and even adults.... but you rarely see the big fat man sporting the red and white kind of costume giving the gifts out to adults..... sometimes a 10-year-old boy standing at around 160cm wouldnt even get cuz the ''cosplay man'' might mistakenly see the boy as some teens. santa claus are making as little appearance in singapore as possible. and the gifts seem to be exclusively for young kiddos.

i passed by orchard road some 2 weeks ago and get a slight glimpse of the decoration put up this year. my aunt told me the line of deco gets longer by the year... yea its long and according to reports, its getting extravangant. LOLS. ;
but what was disappointed is that the decor are made up of red lanterns! preparing for early CNY light-up huh?

as for my christmas present, i told my aunt to buy me a stocking to hang by my bedside with some toys inside..... like those kids in the movies! they wake up, eyes sparkles upon seeing the stocking and reach into it for the wonderful surprise..... that'll be a great christmas. aunt said thats too childish so i guess i wont be getting a stocking with some surprises inside this year.

in fact, i've never received a stocking...so envious of ang mo kids. LMAO. =)))

as for my teeth...... =
