Tantalising Saturday

Earlier plans with Amelia and Melissa to hang out today, watching movies and simply chilling out at Kbox were shelved today. That's such a flop. The appointment was called off because Amelia has to attend some church services or whatever programmes and that leaves me and Melissa going on a duo date. Had initial ideas of going to the cinema with Melissa to watch 27 dresses but again dismissed the plan because of some reasons or another. So stayed at home to do some reading coupled with pecking away at my assignments and school sorta stuff. With school assignments already cleared before the weekends began, that means I merely went through some important notes, etc.

Headed over to Compass Point with the intention of getting the I Am Legend movie novel but stocks haven't yet arrived. I saw the book at Times at Plaza Sing some days back and decided to pick it up some day. Damn, just when I manage to slot in time to get the novel, news of unavailable stocks hit. That's what I detest about bookstores like Popular. Major bookchains always get the import of the lastest book first. Wasted trip. O, and I didn't head over to town because I was too lazy to travel there only to be the proud owner of the novel. It just ain't worth making the journey all the way down. Anyway I got myself the book Hannibal Rising from the library instead. Have wanted to give this title a read all the time but it always slipped my mind and luckily I came across it while my eyes ran through the rows of books on the shelf today. That at least adds a little console to my not getting the I Am Legend novel. Then visited Sembawang to check out the lastest release of movie DVDs. Yea, I haven't been watching movies for such a long time. It's so not like what my friends and I did a year or two ago. Or maybe during the december holidays. DVDs collections still remain pretty much the same old selection. Except for the HD-DVD or is it something like that.

Lastly, I wanna bring to attention the creation of a study group. We'll meet, say once a fortnight or 3 times a month to render help to those who have some academic woes. My real purpose is that a study group means being able to employ the help of one another in the area of studying and we can actually be each other's pillar of strength to lessen the burden on us. But things like meeting 3 times a month won't be sufficient to reap in good grades so you guys still gotta put in some efforts yourselves. But whatever the case, I'll try to assist those in the study group. And Angsiang has already agreed to join us for that. I reminded him to recruit a few more people. We're opening up some 5-7 vacancies. More details to be disclosed at later period.

Byes.

Chapfallen

The second training for the speech day parade turns out to be a hard knock on the head for me. Kept committing grievous mistakes which I shouldn't have done such as moving the wrong foot during marching, resulting in my nerves cracking up and blundering on the spot. I feel so tuckered out like shit after training. I guess I really have to work on polishing up my skills and getting in sync with the people in front of me since I have this habit of taking huge steps. But since mistakes and problems are meant to be conquered, I should pluck up the courage, face them and correct them. The biggest source of encouragement can be found in my redcross mates and other friends, I'd say. Here, I would like to extend a big big thank-you to some of the netball fellas who were helpful enough to oblige to seeing where my drills went wrong. Not forgetting some practices my squad mates and co. specially conducted to identify our areas of weaknesses among all. rofl. It's really comforting to have people by your side to guide and walk you through the phases of challenges.

I'll end this post with some tips on navigating your way towards finding motivation in whatever endeavours you are dished out with. Personally I think that motivation traces its footsteps back to working hard for someone else. Channelling all your efforts, energy and time to the ultimate goal of the want to triumph for someone pushes you beyond your limits. It makes you want to plough on further. You never want to let someone who lays much trust in you down. Attribute your hard work to people, not for the general well-being of yourself. Win for someone who has faith in you, not for the acceptance or recognition of others. All these give you the due strength you need to overcome nearly everything and anything.

If you're wondering why I'm writing like this, it's because an unexpected encounter with a person from my past makes me give much thought about why I tried so hard back in those days : the desire to carry on fighting it all out in the name of a someone but never for the selfish thirst of winning for oneself.

Here's a quick fix for you guys. I'll do the updating work when time permits.

"One for All, All for One". =)

Never did I realise. No one understands.

It's been a ride from the past days leading up to now. And I envision the road ahead to be no more different giving the breakneck speed things are happening. Open your eyes wide and you'll realise 7 days have zoomed by since New Year. My apologies for not updating regularly because I just managed to squeeze in a bit of time only today. A little bit of diversion from the highway we are trodding on in recent days serves as a refresher for me.

With the arrival of CCA day, I just want to make a simple request that will, hopefully, be extended out to everyone of yall. Friends who are in Uniformed Groups, you've been targeted! For the launch of my 'debut UG photo album', I wish to be able to snap some pictures with all those in full uniform this Saturday! So, be smart, look proud and don your uniform with pride this coming Saturday. I've reserved some compulsory names in mind. They are all previous 2ea students mainly because I want the group photo to be both a class momento & our days in the respective UG. Try to sneak out of your booth (if possible for a short while on the big day).

Red Cross : Athirah and Alifah
NPCC : Alex, Weixin and Swati
NCC : Angsiang & LeongJun
Girl Guides : Sagethya and Hazura (Are there anymore guidess around?)
Scouts : Justin (If he's in favour of it, that is)

Sorry if I've missed out on any, but I won't decline you if anyone wants a picture. Haha.

Byes and happy schooling.
